The porcelain group was also called Lost Innocence and Matchmaker. Cast from a multipart mould and executed in unglazed porcelain.

Initially working alongside Johann Joachim Kändler and later as an independent master modeller, French sculptor Michel Victor Acier first came to Meissen in 1764 to gradually tailor Meissen ware to the new popular taste of French Neoclassicism.
